Life Skills Course

The Life Skills Course (Basic) enables youth aged 9-14 to learn and practice fundamental life proficiencies. Cohorts meet for 2.5 hours each Tuesday over five weeks in Virginia Beach with an away-trip capstone event in the Eastern Shore. CSA subject matter experts provide compelling blocks of instruction to include: 

• Week 1: Situational Awareness: Be the sheepdog not the sheep.
• Week 2: Emergency Medical Care: Stop the Bleed
• Week 3: Active Shooter: Run-Hide-Fight.
• Week 4: Urban Survival: Defeating restraints and doors.
• Week 5 Urban Survival 2: Tire change, vehicle fluid checks, and weapons safety.
• Sat or Sun Outdoor Survival: Full Saturday or Sunday in the field. Food, water, shelter, improvised medical care, setting up camp, and bb gun marksmanship.
• NOTE: Each class starts with 30-45 mins of body weight calisthenics led by our instructors.
